چکیده

Diverse vegetable oils are extracted from oleagenic trees and plants all over the world. In particular, olive oil represents a strategic socio-economic branch in Mediterranean countries. These countries use either two or three-phase extraction systems. this work, we focus on by-products extraction, which liquid mill wastewater (OMW) solid pomace (OMP) rejected evaporative ponds. The disposal of recalcitrant waste poses environmental problems such as death different species insects animals. In-depth ICP-OES analysis heavy metal composition OMW OMP revealed presence many metals ranging non-toxic to highly toxic. LC-HRMS characterization these indicated several secondary metabolites harmful humans environment. Thus, aimed identify indigenous microbiota through metagenomics. bacterial population was dominated by Acetobacter (49.7%), Gluconobacter (17.3%), Gortzia (13.7%) Nardonalla (5.3%) genera. most abundant fungal genera were Nakazawaea, Saccharomyces, Lachancea Candida. microbial responsible for OMW, soil toxicity alleviation.

Determination of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Olive and Refined Pomace Olive Oils using HPLC/FLD

ABSTRACT: In this study, an analytical method is developed to determine 15 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in olive and refined pomace olive oils using HPLC coupled with a fluorescence detector. The standardised method of ultrasound-assisted solvent extraction consisted of liquid–liquid extraction with organic solvent and purification on C18 and Florisil bonded-phase cartridges was modi...

Odor control in evaporation ponds treating olive mill wastewater through the use of Ca(OH)2.

Different amounts of Ca(OH)2 were added in 2 L beakers containing 1 L of olive mill wastewater (OMW). The mixture was stirred for 45 min and left to settle. Wastewater analysis was used in order to determine the effect of the different amounts of calcium hydroxide in the treating process, three days after the application. The Odor Detection Threshold was used for determining the effect of the t...

Microwave Assisted Extraction of Olive Oil Pomace by Acidic Hexane

In this study, Microwave-Assisted Solvent Extraction (MASE) was used to recover oil residues from pomace olive using acidic hexane. Results obtained demonstrated that oil extraction yield increased with time, the amount of acetic acid in hexane and power radiation. For both radiation powers used (170 and 510W), the optimal extraction time and most interesting content of acetic acid in hexan...
